Nominate a Fellow

NominateAshoka needs your help to identify the world’s leading social entrepreneurs in news and knowledge. These innovators are inventing strategies and models that promise to connect and engage people as participative, change-making citizens. They’re also producing new intelligence that will inform the future of the field.

If you are interested in nominating a candidate for Ashoka’s News & Knowledge Entrepreneurs program, please contact the Ashoka country office where the candidate is based. Otherwise, you can send your nomination here. Please tell us about your nominee’s new idea and why you think it’s important for society. Also tell us a bit about him or her as a person.

What sorts of people are we looking for? Ashoka’s five core criteria for the selection of all Fellows are paramount, as always: newness of the idea; creativity; entrepreneurial quality; likely social impact; and ethical fiber.

Beyond those, however, we can identify numerous opportunities for pattern-changing initiatives. Note that this list is not meant to be exhaustive. While we hope that it will help focus our search, we also expect that it will inspire exploration of innovations that are emerging outside these boxes. Really, we’re looking for ideas that test traditional definitions of news and knowledge and its roles in society.

Here are some key questions that point toward potential opportunities.
